APPA's mission is to provide the services necessary to give our members the opportunity to prosper. In order for us to fulfill this goal, we have developed member benefits and programs in response to your needs as you face a changing global pet product market. There are many reasons to belong to APPA, and the following list is only the beginning. Many more new programs are planned for the coming year.
Global Pet Expo
APPA's signature benefit and the most popular reason for belonging to our association. It is the premier pet industry event in the United States and one of the key selling opportunities for pet product manufacturers in the world.
The APPA National Pet Owners Survey
Since 1988, APPA has been gathering information and publishing the industry's most comprehensive consumer research study of demographics, buying habits and other traits of owners of dogs, cats, fish, birds, reptiles, small animals and horses. The Survey is published every other year. APPA's objective of the study is to monitor consumer habits on an ongoing basis in order to identify trends in pet ownership, product and service consumption.
Also included in The Pet Owners Survey is an in-depth Lifestyle and Media section, which examines pet owners in easily understood consumer segments. The segments are defined in terms of what motivates pet ownership and relationships with pets, along with lifestyle and other demographic criterion. It is intended to develop a consumer profile including behavioral information, media habits and retail preference. This report highlights Internet usage, time spent listening to the radio, travel, work, television viewing, leisure activities, pet ownership and online shopping for pets.
