License Rules for Use of APPA Trademark

American Pet Products Association (APPA) is the sole and rightful owner of the trademarks “American Pet Products Association” and “APPA” (APPA Trademarks) having duly registered such marks with the United States Patent and Trademark Office in 1998. APPA provides its members in good standing and other licensees, in its sole discretion, with the nonexclusive, nontransferable license to use these marks to be used in connection with goods and services covered by its registrations pursuant to the following terms:

1.     Member and other licensees acknowledge the ownership of the APPA trademarks in APPA and agree that they will do nothing inconsistent with such ownership.
      
2.     Member and licensees agree that nothing in this license shall give members and licensees any right, title or interest in the APPA trademarks other than the right to use them in accordance with these license rules.
      
3.     Member and other licensees acknowledge that this license is revocable and that APPA shall have the sole discretion to make, change and interpret these rules.
      
4.     Member and other licensees acknowledge that use of the APPA trademarks is in no way an endorsement or guarantee by APPA of associated products and services except to the extent that it verifies membership in APPA, participation in an APPA-sponsored event or program, and/or the recognition of an APPA-sponsored prize or award.
      
5.     Member and other licensees agree that they will not use the APPA trademarks for any purpose, which may be confusing as to the owner of the marks or the purpose of the marks. In addition, the APPA logo may not be used in any manner that, in the sole discretion of APPA, discredits APPA or tarnishes its reputation and goodwill; is false or misleading; violates the rights of others; violates any law, regulation or other public policy; or mischaracterizes the relationship between APPA and Member or other licensees.
      
6.     Member and other licensees agree to use the APPA trademarks only in the form and manner and with appropriate legends as prescribed from time to time by APPA including the official trademark registration symbol of APPA. The logo will at all times be in a sufficient format, size and print as to be legible in its entirety. In addition, member and other licensees will not change or alter the provided logo in any manner and will use the logo in the same color(s) as are provided. This includes the APPA logo provided by APPA, as well as, other logos that may be authorized by APPA in writing before publication.
      
7.    Licenses, once granted, remain in full force and effect until such time as APPA gives member or other licensee notice at any time for any purpose in writing or member is no longer in good standing in APPA.
