The Pets in the Classroom and Dogs in the Classroom programs continue to grow. This is great news for so many reasons. First and foremost, the educational and personal development of students is being enhanced due to the interaction of a pet in the classroom. A second reason of importance for pet industry members is the fact that these programs are providing growth, today and for the future. Plus, don’t forget to consider the positive impact these programs can have on your employees when they see the positive outcomes.
- Expand the number of classrooms with pets far beyond our current 5% penetration.
- Provides teacher development tools for all students and especially: Title 1 schools with low attendance rates and economically challenged homes. And for special needs students suffering from social anxiety and low self-esteem.
- Provides a strong public-private partnership investing in our children’s education.
- Expands the program to include more partnerships with therapy dog organization for the Dogs in the Classroom program.
- Continues research efforts to show the benefits of pets on kids with their personal development and academic performance.
- Help students establish a life long love of pets. 60% of teachers report students in their class have acquired a pet in their home due to exposure of a classroom pet.
- A $10,000 donation supports 100 additional classrooms.
Do you believe in the value of pets and the positive impact they can have on children? Make your donation in less than 60 seconds. All major credit cards are accepted and a gift of any amount makes a difference.
