Manager, Trade Show Operations
Kate Simonfay first joined the American Pet Products Association in November 2012. Throughout her career with APPA, Kate has worked with both the Association and Global Pet Expo, APPA's annual trade show. For the past five years, she has worked in the trade show department, helping to plan and implement successful Global Pet Expo Shows.
In her most recent position, Trade Show Manager, Kate oversees the day-to-day preparations for the trade show and serves as a direct contact for over a thousand exhibitors. Her key responsibilities include booth sales and assignments, exhibitor management, exhibitor recruitment/retention, and exhibitor services. Throughout the show cycle, she acts as a direct liaison between show vendors and service contractors. In addition, Kate travels to other industry events promoting Global Pet Expo.
Since 2015, Kate has served as the NYIAEE Young Professionals Committee Co-Vice Chair. She also helped launch the APPA Young Professionals Network with fellow APPA colleagues. In 2015, Kate was awarded an IAEE Diamond Award for the New York Chapter, which recognized her volunteer efforts for the organization. She received her Certification in Exhibition Management (CEM) in 2016.
Kate is a graduate of Western Connecticut State University, where she she received her BA in Marketing and Communications and Marist College, where she received her MA in Media Studies and Public Relations. Prior to joining APPA, Kate worked for a local radio station. Kate loves to travel and go on adventures. She currently resides in CT with her husband and her french bulldog, Mr. Feeny.
