To begin your search click here and press SHIFT + CTRL + F or go to the Edit menu and select Search or Advanced Search.  This opens the Search pane to the right of the document.

NOTE: To use a PDF file, you must have Adobe Reader® or Adobe Acrobat® installed on your computer.  Adobe Reader can be downloaded for free from the Adobe website at www.adobe.com or http://get.adobe.com/reader/.

How to View/Save a PDF File:

To view the PDF file (one with an extension of .pdf) click on the document title.  To save the PDF file to your hard drive, right click on the document title, click Save Target As in Internet Explorer or Save Link As in Firefox or Chrome, and then specify a location on your hard drive to which you want to save the file.

How to Search a PDF for a Word or Phrase:

1. Press SHIFT + CTRL + F or go to the Edit menu and select Search or Advanced Search.  This opens the Search pane to the right of the document.

2. Type the word or phrase you would like to search for in the text box, for example ‘food’.  To search only for complete words, select the box next to Whole words only.  For example, if you are searching for the word “owners” and don’t want the search to list results for the word “ownership”, select the Whole words only option.

3. Click Search.  The Search pane displays the search results (in the order they appear in the document) and the first occurrence of the word or phrase is highlighted in the document.  To view a specific occurrence of the word or phrase in the document, click on its link in the Results list.  Acrobat highlights the selected occurrence in the document.

4. For more advanced search options, click on Use Advanced Search Options at the bottom of the Search pane.

5. The Advanced Search Options allows you to select whether you want to match the exact word or phrase or match any of the words in your search.  Select your preference from the drop down box under Return results containing.  The default setting is to match the exact word or phrase.

6. To start a new search, simply click New Search.  To close the search, click the X in the upper right corner of the Search pane.
