Pet industry continues to defy recession
Once again, America’s spending on pets has grown despite the recession, with a 5.4 percent increase in 2009, according to the American Pet Products Association.
The association projected another increase — of nearly 5 percent – in 2010.

Nineteen Percent of Dog Owners Purchased a Product Made by a Designer Manufacturer. Haute couture has made its way to the pet industry and pet owners are loving it! Dog collars, clothing and other accessories are the most popular designer products purchased by at least four-out-of-ten dog owners. Two-to-three-out-of-ten also bought designer leashes, carriers, beds and food/water bowls.
